World War Three, a Sega dreamland
This is pretty much comedy, this. The THB-era didn’t give us much in the way of b-sides and the quality of most of them isn’t particularly memorable but it did give us Sculpture of Man. Which is certainly… something.
Sculpture’s so overdone in its vitriol and rage that it’s sheer and pure comedy. It’s the band’s shortest actual song but contains a fuckton of almost stream-of-consciousness lyrics that attack against everything and anything, all spat out in completely indistinguishable piles of words while the band frantically whack whatever they can out of their instruments. The somewhat calm starts lulls the listener into safety before the whole thing just explodes, until it hilariously turns into the slow jangle again. Oh, and let’s not forget the sing-along chorus. Yeaaaahh.
Sculpture of Man is a straight-up all-out punk song. It’s so overdone furious that it’s pure hilarity. And then it has the dubious additional hilarity of being under two minutes long and being the only worthwhile b-side from its respective era.
