Sometimes the mind is the smallest prison of all
Out of the two THB-era acoustic b-sides, this one’s the better. It’s still not much, mind you.
The problem with Too Cold Here is that it’s got one moment that’s absolutely brilliant and the rest of the song fails to live up to that moment. The verses are dull, the chorus is nice, but it’s the bridge in-between that’s fantastic as the song manages to rise from the gloomy angsting to a fragile elegy. It even affects the lyrics: the bridges have some really fantastic lines in them, the rest of the song is just ridiculously angstywangsty with really awkward lines.
More of a curiosity than a necessity, but those bridges really are brilliant.
