Dumb flag scum
Repeat is a special song in the way that it manages not to filler-fill an album only once, but twice.
I never skip songs. Ever. Even if I really dislike a song on an album, I still listen to it on its album context because I appreciate the album format and how else are you gonna grow to like a song other than by listening to it? Repeat’s Stars and Stripes remix however is the one of the one and a few tracks in my entire music collection which get the skip button treatment. It’s pointless, it’s shit. It’s just a big brainfart of an idea and bore of a listen. The idea for it was to create something Public Enemy -like, remixed by the said rap group’s production team who the band were fans of, but the final result is just an annoying waste of space.
The actual Repeat, titled Repeat (UK) on the album, isn’t shite but it’s by no means album-worthy and stands out as one of Generation Terrorists’ problems. The production makes it sound completely limp, the lyrics are cringeworthy in their “durrr we are so political DOWN WIT TEH MONARKY” and on an album that suffers from length problems, it’s too much of a b-side (or demo session practice) to be there.
But it is.
